In uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system, lithium-ion battery is a battery technology that changes the rules of the game. Although lead-acid batteries have been providing good services to the industry for decades, the benefits of using lithium-ion batteries in UPS systems are too great to be ignored.



Low Total Cost of Owership

Higher temperature performance

Lithium batteries can also withstand higher temperatures than lead-acid batteries without reducing performance. For every 15 °F rise in temperature above 77 ° F, lead-acid batteries lose about half of life, resulting in a significant loss in performance. Li-ion batteries can operate at temperatures up to 104°F , be used in combination with lithium-ion batteries in more unconventional and harsh environments.


Space saving

The floor area of lithium-ion battery system for UPS can be reduced by 50% to 80% at most, and the weight is 60% to 80% lighter than that of lead-acid systems. For data centers that quickly reach the capacity of floor and rack space, the transfer to lithium-ion UPS system can free up space, reduce clutter and make it easier to reconfigure equipment.
